August 2008

All is well so far in Germany, I arrived in Dusseldorf, Germany on August 7Th at 6:00am.  I postponed my arrival in Germany due to my brother and new sister in law's wedding.  The Krefeld Pinguines were very professional and let me extend my stay in North America for a few extra days at home to finalize a few things before leaving.  From Dusseldorf, we (team GM (Jiri) and I) drove to Krefeld (25 minutes) to unload my bags in my new pad, drove to the arena to sign some documents, drove to the hospital for a few fitness and medical test and finally then traveled an extra 7:00hours to Southern Germany to meet the team for training camp in Fussen, Germany.  To say the least it was a long day, combining Aug 6Th and 7Th in one.

We've been practicing twice a day, lifting, and playing exhibition games.  For more info please visit the League's Website at www.del.org or the www.krefeld-pinguine.de , you might need a few German lessons first.  What a challenge, and a fun one too,  or you may also use http://www.translate.google.com/translate_t  for a very practical way to translate websites.  We are heading back to Southern Germany again Aug 22ND, along with visiting and playing in Austria on the August 23rd and August 24Th. We head home next  Monday August 25Th.   Please by patient with me, as I will fulfill what many of you are requesting me to do this year and keep a blog on our foundation's site.  Keep visiting has you'll hear good stories, see many interesting pictures and see how the Europeans play the game.

This summer has been another successful summer with plenty fun happenings.  A lot of success with our annual events, thanks to all of you who have donated many hours of your time for a cause in need, to all of those who keep supporting us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  On a hockey note, we begin our regular season Sept 5Th.

God Bless,

Serge,
